“What you need is Satisfashion!!” event was a phenomenal success for the East Lothian branch of the National Childbirth Trust, the local arm of a national charity that supports parents with young families. Around 50 local mums, Grans and aunties attended a jam-packed event in the Waterside Bistro’s gorgeously decorated upstairs venue for an evening of fashion fun and raised over £400 for the charity.
Local fashion stylist and personal shopper Laura Russell (East Lothian’s answer to Gok Wan!) was on hand with advice on dressing for your body type, accessorizing and how to wear the latest trends. Local Haddington stores Zuri and Ivory took part in the event and there were lots of stalls featuring local businesses to browse.
Caroline Libberton, Chair of the East Lothian NCT branch, said:
“It was great to be treating the ladies to a night out for a change – fashion, cake and a bit of retail therapy were a great combination! The event was a lot of fun and we raised a fantastic amount for the NCT. We were delighted to be able to feature local businesses, including many run by local mums, and are enormously grateful for all those who donated prizes to our raffle or delicious cupcakes to keep the ladies going!”
Personal stylist Laura Russell added “It was great fun playing grown up dressing up! My ladies went away with tips about dressing for their body shape and the importance of having the right underwear. I’ve had some really positive feedback from the night and am already working on plans for the next one! Watch out for Satisfashion nights in the near future! I’m planning an accessorizing evening with local Haddington store Zuri and an East Lothian Fashion Week show. So watch this space!”
